"New Village" KSL development plan

Revised “New Village” development plan. KSL has revised the plan for Squaw Valley the “New Village”. The plan has moved the building that was closest to the mountain back more towards building #4 in the Village. Providing a little more mountain views for some of the existing condominiums in building #3. The revised plan has a huge indoor/ outdoor water park that will be located towards the East end of the existing parking lot, near where the Cantina is currently. This is just conceptual and the plan is changing daily. Stay tuned and we will post information as it becomes available. If you have any questions, please call or email anytime.

There is a nip in the morning air.  Fall is surely creeping up on us with temperatures dropping into the low 30's at night.  Hopefully temperatures will stay warm throughout September, since we had such a short summer season with snow into June.  I really do love this time of year.  Things seem to slow down a bit in the Tahoe area, traffic decreases,  and everyone just seems a little more relaxed.  It is a great time to visit. 

Labor Day weekend in Squaw Valley is holding the annual Alpen Wine Festival.  With over 40 different wineries and a silent auction.  This is a beautiful event held in the Village to benefit the Can Do Multiple Sclerosis, a nonprofit organization and innovative provider of lifestyle empowerment programs for people living with MS and their support partners. 

This Labor Day weekend  also brings the Best of the West Rib Cook Off in Reno.  This is a do not miss event.  Great food, music and much more.  For details click Best of the West Reno Rib Cook Off.

Other September events include the  Tough Mudder scheduled for September 17th.  It is a fantastic endurance race with some of the country's top athletes competing.  And the Tahoe Sierra Century Ride .

Spring has sprung-

March was filled with feet and feet of snow.  I believe we had a record snow fall for the season.  I have to admit I was excited to see the sun this past week.  Spring skiing is in the air.  The Village was full of crazy costumes, people skiing and boarding in shorts and bikinis, hanging out, listening to music and soaking up some rays.  Absolutely beautiful.  The snow is melting quickly, but it is not going to disappear anytime soon. 
Big News!  Squaw Valley has decided to remain open on weekends until Memorial Day!   

April also brings the Easter Bunny to Squaw.  Join in the fun for the on hill Easter Egg hunt.

Squaw Valley had a total of 3 sales this past month. Currently there are 13 properties pending / contingent and 11 of the 13 are Short Sales.  I still see some distressed properties in Squaw Valley on the horizon but not as many as this past winter.   The Resort at Squaw Creek is about to shake the market up a bit and has decided to auction off all of its remaining properties at the end of this month.  Depending on interest, this could push prices up for development or really bring values down.  More information below on the Resort Auction.
